Direct Payment

What is a Direct Payment?
  • It is money from your council to pay for your support.
  • Instead of the council, you control the money to pay for the service you choose.
Whereas some people are happy to use their Direct Payment to employ a PA to provide a service, we understand that taking on the responsibility of becoming an employer is not for everyone and if this is the case, we feel the following are added reasons why Polestone may be right for you:
1. Polestone’s management provide supervision and training to its staff team. 
2. You will never have to worry about finding cover if your P.A. doesn’t turn-up…Polestone will never ‘call-in’ sick. We have enough staff to cover for sickness and holidays.
3. Instead of having the same person provide you with support, at Polestone you will be supported by our whole team.
4. Polestone takes on the responsibility for its staff’s health and safety and fully complies with employment law. This is a responsibility you may not fully understand or wish to take on.
And perhaps most importantly, Polestone provide an empowering environment to our service users, where highly qualified management can support its staff team, providing them with advice, training, supervision and appraisal. The result of all the above can perhaps be best evidenced in how we are able to provide families with a review every 3 months including each day’s recordings of how we provided support.
